Sublime Darkness : Art Body Of Work.
Concept
In 2011 three hundred and fifteen people drowned in Australian waterways, becoming victim to what is considered one of Australia’s most beautiful landscapes. In my final school years of 2011 & 2012 I was conceptually inspired to create a collection of works that juxtapose the sublime beauty of nature with the potential darkness it withholds.

I was influenced by the fluidity of Jin Nü’s sculptural work Exuviate II: Where Have All the Children Gone? (2005), the underwater photographic work of artist Zena Holloway and Bill Viola’s contemporary time based art practice.
